Recent reports have suggested that Karan Veer Mehra, known for winning Bigg Boss 18, was in consideration for the main antagonist role in the upcoming Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh. However, these reports are unfounded.

While Don 3 is generating significant buzz, especially regarding casting choices, it has been confirmed that Karan Veer Mehra is not even being considered for the role. Earlier, Vikrant Massey was in advanced talks to play the antagonist, but those discussions did not materialize. The search for an actor to fill the role is still underway. The filmmakers are looking for a young actor who embodies the negative aspects of the character while also exuding style in action sequences.

The role of the antagonist in Don 3 is said to be a complex one, requiring an actor who can portray a charming and persuasive fraudster. Several actors from across the film industry are being considered, but no one has been finalized yet. Initial reports suggested that Vijay Deverakonda was in consideration for the role, but he reportedly declined the offer after the box office failure of Liger.

Don 3 has faced several casting changes. Kiara Advani was initially slated to play the female lead, but she stepped down due to her pregnancy and the arrival of her child with Sidharth Malhotra. Kriti Sanon has now been confirmed as the female lead.

Farhan Akhtar is returning to the director's chair after a 15-year gap with Don 3. His last directorial venture was Don 2, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, which was released in 2011. The film is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment.

Principal photography for Don 3 is expected to commence in January 2026. The film is slated for release in December 2026. Don 3 is the third installment in the Don franchise, which began with the 1978 film Don. A remake series started in 2006 with Don: The Chase Begins Again, followed by Don 2 in 2011.
