Rahul Gandhi has publicly lauded Abhishek Manu Singhvi for his role as the Nehru-Gandhi family's 'Sankat Mochan' (troubleshooter). Speaking at a gathering of lawyers and information rights activists on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, openly acknowledged Singhvi's crucial support in handling his legal matters and those of his family.

Gandhi expressed admiration for Singhvi's legal acumen, describing him as a "laser beam" who can instantly pinpoint the core issue in any case. He highlighted the refreshing nature of discussing his cases with Singhvi, emphasizing the senior advocate's ability to distill complex legal information into its most essential components.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi, a senior advocate and politician, has been a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) for a long time. He currently represents Telangana in the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Indian Parliament, since August 2024. Singhvi also serves as a spokesperson for the INC. He has held several important positions, including Additional Solicitor General of India at the young age of 37 in 1997. In February 2025, Singhvi was appointed to the Empowered Action Group of Leaders and Experts (EAGLE) by the Indian National Congress to monitor the conduct of free and fair elections by the Election Commission of India.

Singhvi's association with the Gandhi family extends beyond his legal expertise. He is perceived as a staunch loyalist and has often defended the family and the party on various platforms. In September 2024, Singhvi strongly backed Rahul Gandhi as a potential Prime Minister, stating that Gandhi had "earned this right" and could "rightfully make a claim to the prime minister's post" whenever the Congress comes to power. He also praised Rahul Gandhi's sincerity and commitment to his words, contrasting him with the current Prime Minister.

Sonia Gandhi has also lauded Abhishek Manu Singhvi and his team for their work. In a message, Sonia Gandhi commended Singhvi for reigniting a vital conversation and referred to the Constitution of India as the moral foundation of democracy.

Rahul Gandhi's public acknowledgment of Singhvi's role as a 'Sankat Mochan' underscores the importance of legal expertise and strategic advice in navigating the complex political landscape of India. It also highlights the close relationship between the Gandhi family and those who have stood by them through various challenges.
