A tragic incident occurred in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where a woman allegedly killed her husband and then committed suicide in front of their minor son. The incident took place on Monday, August 4, 2025, in the Danilimda police line quarters, the residence allotted to the couple.
The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Parmar, a police constable attached to the A Division traffic police station, and his wife, Sangita. Their 7-year-old son was present at the scene during the tragic events.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Mohan Saini, preliminary investigations suggest a long-standing marital discord between Mukesh and Sangita, which may have been a contributing factor in the incident. The discord apparently stemmed from both marital and financial issues.
Reports indicate that an altercation occurred between the couple on Monday morning. During the altercation, Sangita allegedly struck Mukesh on the head with a wooden stick, resulting in his death. Following this, she committed suicide by hanging. A suicide note was discovered, which further alluded to the marital and financial problems as the cause of the extreme actions.
Authorities are currently investigating the matter. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, especially given Mukesh Parmar's position as a police constable. The couple's young son is now left to deal with the trauma of witnessing such a horrific event. The police are working to provide the child with the necessary support and care during this difficult time.
