Ranveer Singh is reportedly nearing the completion of filming for his upcoming action thriller, Dhurandhar. Directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri: The Surgical Strike fame, the film is anticipated to be a significant comeback for Singh, who has had a string of underperforming movies at the box office.
According to sources, approximately 50 days of shooting remain, with the goal of wrapping up production by mid-October. The filmmakers are working diligently to meet the deadlines for a potential December 5 release. However, there's buzz that if Dhurandhar doesn't make the December date, it could be pushed to Eid 2026, contingent on the schedules of other films.
Dhurandhar is set against the backdrop of Indian intelligence agencies and celebrates the unsung heroes within them. Dhar and his team are incorporating some of the biggest achievements of Ajit Doval and his team into the screenplay. The film is inspired by real-life incidents, global conflicts, and covert operations of RAW.
The movie boasts an ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. Singh will portray a RAW agent, while Madhavan is rumored to be playing a character inspired by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Sara Arjun will be seen in a romantic pairing with Ranveer.
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is set to embark on the final schedule in Spain for his next film with director Vishal Bhardwaj. Kapoor is expected to wrap up his work on Bhardwaj's film by August 25. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is also aiming for a December 5 release.
Following the completion of the Vishal Bhardwaj project, Kapoor is slated to begin shooting for Cocktail 2 alongside Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna starting in September. He also has Farzi 2 in the pipeline, with filming scheduled to commence around the end of the year or early January.
The potential clash between Dhurandhar and Kapoor's film with Vishal Bhardwaj on December 5 has been a topic of discussion. The makers of Kapoor's film are reportedly sticking to the original release date, expressing confidence in their product. The film stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, and Randeep Hooda, promising a blend of Bhardwaj's signature style with commercial elements.
