Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bengaluru tomorrow, August 10, 2025, to inaugurate key infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and easing travel in Karnataka. The visit includes the flagging off of three Vande Bharat Express trains, the inauguration of the Yellow Line of the Bengaluru Metro, and the laying of the foundation stone for the Phase-3 Metro project.
The Prime Minister's itinerary begins with his arrival at HAL Airport. From there, he will proceed to the KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station, where he will flag off three new Vande Bharat Express services. These trains will connect Bengaluru to Belagavi, Amritsar to Katra (Sri Mata Vaishno Devi), and Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune. The flagging off ceremony is scheduled for approximately 11 AM.
Following the railway event, the focus shifts to the Bengaluru Metro's Yellow Line. Around 11:45 AM, PM Modi is expected to arrive at the Ragigudda metro station and take a ride to Electronics City. Upon reaching Electronics City, he will travel to the International Institute of Information Technology, Bengaluru (IIIT-B), where he will officially inaugurate the Yellow Line and lay the foundation stone for the Namma Metro Phase 3 project. The inauguration of the Yellow Line is a significant development for Bengaluru's infrastructure, with passenger operations expected to commence either on the same day or the following day.
The Yellow Line spans over 19 km with 16 stations and connects RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra. This project, worth approximately Rs 7,160 crore, is expected to significantly improve connectivity for a large population in the region. The foundation stone laying for Bangalore Metro Phase-3 project, which is worth over Rs 15,610 crore, will also take place. This phase will add more than 44 km to the metro network, with 31 elevated stations. This infrastructure project is designed to address the growing transportation needs of the city, catering to residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
In anticipation of the Prime Minister's visit, Bengaluru is implementing traffic diversions and parking bans. Authorities have suggested alternative routes to ensure smooth travel for commuters. These measures are in place to manage traffic flow and minimize inconvenience to the public during the PM's visit.
PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of urban connectivity projects in Bengaluru at around 1 PM and address a public function. By 2:45 PM, he is scheduled to depart for Delhi.
