The iconic television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is poised for a grand return, sparking considerable excitement among fans. As the premiere date approaches on July 29, 2025, a significant portion of viewers are drawing comparisons between the reboot and the currently popular show, Anupamaa. Hiten Tejwani, who plays a key role in the reboot, has addressed the buzz surrounding its return.

In a recent interview with Telly Masala, Hiten Tejwani shared his perspective on the ongoing social media comparisons between Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Anupamaa. He advised viewers to reserve their judgments until the new season airs. According to him, audiences should be allowed to watch the show before making judgements. He stated, "Ab hum aa rahe hai, hume aane toh dijiye. Fir badme aap log hi decide karenge kon kya hai. Hum kaun hote hai kuch bolne wale,” which translates to, “Now that we are coming, let us come. Later, you will only decide who is what. Who are we to judge?".

Hiten further explained that television has evolved, and today's viewers know exactly what they want and are quick to respond to content that resonates or doesn't. He noted that today’s audience is quite discerning and vocal about their preferences. He added, “Joh chiz achi hai achi hai, joh achi nahi hai, aap maalik ho, aapko pata hai, sabko pata hai… Aaj kal ki audience clear hai ye mamle mei,” meaning, “Something good is good; something that isn't, you are the boss, you know better, and everyone knows that. Nowadays, the audience is very clear in these matters". He expressed confidence in the audience's ability to judge fairly and wisely.

Hiten also clarified that the revival of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is not intended to undermine any other show or create competition negatively. Instead, it aims to evoke nostalgia while staying relevant to today's viewers. “Hum log kisi ko neecha dikhane ya kuch niche karne uske liye nahi aa rahe hai. Ek nostalgia hai. I am sure makers bhi chahte the Ektaa ma'am bhi ki kuch laaye aur aaj ke time ki baate kar paaye,” Hiten explained. This means that the show aims to evoke nostalgia and that the makers want to bring something that can address contemporary issues.

He believes the show will honor its legacy while addressing contemporary issues, something the original series was also known for. The original Kyunki... broke barriers by addressing topics that were rarely discussed on Indian television back then. From family values to emotional conflicts, the show had a way of touching hearts. Hiten assured fans that the new season would carry forward that legacy while also highlighting contemporary issues relevant to today's audience.

The reboot features Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, and Shagun Sharma as the children of Mihir and Tulsi.
