The upcoming horror-comedy Thama, produced by Maddock Films, has generated significant buzz with the release of its first-look posters, revealing the characters played by Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal. The film, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is slated for a Diwali release and promises a blend of horror, comedy, and romance, adding to Maddock's expanding universe of supernatural films.

Ayushmann Khurrana embodies Alok, portrayed as "Insaaniyat ki aakhri Umeed" (humanity's last hope). His character is seen in a dark and intense avatar, hinting at a crucial role in the fight against the forces of darkness. Some reports suggest Khurrana will play a vampire and a historical researcher in the film.

Rashmika Mandanna plays Tadaka, described as "Roshni ki ek hi paheli kiran" (the first ray of light). Her look is impressive, dressed in green with scattered hair and an intense expression, suggesting a mysterious and possibly dangerous persona. Together, Alok and Tadaka seem to be positioned as opposing forces against the darkness, with a possible romantic angle woven into the narrative.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui takes on the role of Yakshasan, the "Andhere ka Badshah" (king of darkness). His character appears quirky and unconventional, adding an enigmatic presence to the ensemble. The poster shows a statue behind him with burning eyes and protruding teeth, reinforcing his villainous role. This marks Siddiqui's entry into the horror universe, intensifying the anticipation for his performance.

Paresh Rawal plays Mr. Ram Bajaj Goyal, a character who "Jo Hamesha Comedy Mein Tragedy Dhoondhte Hain" (always finds tragedy in comedy). Despite his seemingly ordinary appearance, the tagline hints at a comedic yet dramatic role in the narrative. His poster shows a worried expression with a half-red, half-black background, highlighting the tragic elements of his character. Some speculate that his character's name is a play on his iconic character Ram Gopal Bajaj from Andaz Apna Apna.

Thama is expected to be set in Delhi with flashbacks to Vijayanagara. Ayushmann's character is believed to be a historical researcher, and the film will explore a romantic journey centered around unrequited love. The film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik. The makers of the film are set to release "The World of Thama" online, offering a deeper look into the Maddock Supernatural Universe. A promo video released earlier featured creatures from Maddock's other films, building anticipation for Thama as potentially the most powerful of them all.
