Daisy Shah, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in "Jai Ho" and later starred with him in "Race 3", recently shared insights into the actor's views on women's clothing. According to Shah, Salman Khan believes that "women look more beautiful when they are covered up". She recalled an incident from the "Jai Ho" shoot where Salman felt her dress was too short for a morning scene and asked for her to be covered with a blanket. Shah added that Salman believes women should not be portrayed as "showpieces" in his films.

This isn't the first time that Salman Khan's views on women's attire have come to light. In 2023, Palak Tiwari, who worked as an assistant director on "Antim: The Final Truth," revealed that Salman had a strict dress code for women on set, ensuring they were covered "like good proper girls". Tiwari later clarified that her statement was "misunderstood".

Khan addressed the controversy surrounding his alleged "double standard" regarding women's clothing on his film sets. He stated that women's bodies are "more precious" and should be covered. He also emphasized that the issue isn't about women's clothing but about how men perceive women. Khan said he doesn't want women to be objectified or disrespected and aims to create films suitable for family viewing. He added that he tries to prevent men from staring inappropriately at heroines in his films.

Khan's comments have sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some people support his views, agreeing that women should be portrayed with respect and dignity. Others have criticized him, arguing that women have the right to choose what they wear. Some critics feel that Khan has no right to decide what women should wear.

This isn't the first time the actor has faced backlash for his comments. In 2016, Salman Khan was criticised for comparing himself to a "raped woman" while describing the gruelling shoot of his film 'Sultan'.

Despite the criticism, Salman Khan seems firm in his belief that women should dress modestly, especially on his film sets. His co-star, Daisy Shah, shared her experience, reinforcing the idea that Salman is protective of women and prefers them to be covered. According to Shah, Salman believes, " ladki ko jitna dhakoge, utni hi zyada sundar dikhegi " (a woman will look more beautiful if you cover her up).
