The vibrant Ganeshotsav celebrations have commenced in Mumbai, and amongst the throngs of devotees, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez was spotted seeking blessings at the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja on the first day of the festival.
Dressed in a traditional pink and green lehenga and with her head respectfully covered by a dupatta, Fernandez was seen offering prayers and performing aarti at the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal. Videos and photos of her visit quickly went viral across social media platforms, capturing the attention of fans and devotees alike.
Lalbaugcha Raja is one of Mumbai's most famous and highly-regarded Ganpati pandals, drawing millions of devotees each year. The pandal is visited by people from all walks of life, including Bollywood celebrities, sports personalities, business tycoons, politicians, and other prominent figures.
This year marks a special occasion for Jacqueline Fernandez, as she welcomed Lord Ganesha into her home for the first time. Sharing a video of the Ganpati aarti on social media, the actress expressed her joy and excitement, "Welcoming Bappa home for the very first time. Ganeshotsav is a 10-day festival celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor across Maharashtra. It marks the arrival of Lord Ganpati, the deity of prosperity and wisdom, into homes and public pandals. During this period, devotees engage in various rituals, prayers, and cultural activities. Pandals are adorned with intricate decorations, and the air is filled with devotional music and chants. People prepare traditional sweets and delicacies, observe fasts, and visit temples and pandals to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha.
The Ganeshotsav festival is not only a religious event but also a cultural celebration that brings people together. It fosters a sense of community and strengthens social bonds. Other celebrities, including Sachin Tendulkar and Nushrratt Bharuccha, have also shared glimpses of their Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on social media, further amplifying the festive spirit. Sachin Tendulkar shared a picture of himself performing pooja with his family.
To ensure peaceful Ganpati celebrations across the city, the Thane Police have deployed 7,000–8,000 personnel. Additionally, the Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray, along with his family, visited Lalbaugcha Raja and Mumbaicha Raja to offer prayers. He also visited MNS Chief Raj Thackeray's residence to offer prayers to Ganpati Bappa. Andhericha Raja is celebrating its 60th year with the theme of Salangpur Hanumanji Mandir from Gujarat.
