Prabhas is reportedly set to wrap up the shooting for his upcoming horror-comedy, "The Raja Saab," by the end of October 2025. This comes after production was briefly halted due to a union strike in Tollywood. With the issues now resolved, the team is working diligently to complete the film on schedule.
Directed by Maruthi, "The Raja Saab" marks Prabhas' first foray into the horror-comedy genre, promising a departure from his recent action-heavy roles. The film is expected to be a mix of comedy, horror, and high-octane entertainment.
The shooting schedule includes filming key sequences with Prabhas and the supporting cast in Hyderabad until the end of August 2025. Following this, the team will move to Kerala on September 17, 2025, to film Prabhas' introduction song. The cast and crew will then travel abroad to shoot two more songs, completing the filming process.
"The Raja Saab" features a strong ensemble cast, including Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar as the female leads. Sanjay Dutt will play a pivotal role as Prabhas' grandfather. Other notable cast members include Brahmanandam, Yogi Babu, Anupam Kher, and Murali Sharma. Prabhas will be seen in dual roles in the movie. He will be playing the roles of both grandson and grandfather, with one of the characters being the owner of a cinema theatre and the other being a ghost.
The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, with a musical score by Thaman S.
The film's team claims that the horror comedy will be centered around a grand haveli set that is unlike anything Indian cinema has seen before. Designed by art director Rajeevan Nambiar, the set is a massive 41,256 sq ft.
While initially slated for a December 5, 2025, release, the producers are now considering the Sankranti 2026 window. The film is now scheduled to release on January 9, 2026. "The Raja Saab" is intended to be released in five languages, targeting a broad audience across India.
