Sufi Motiwala, the 21-year-old fashion commentator known for his sharp critiques and burgeoning social media presence, is set to make his acting debut in Karan Johar's upcoming show, Do You Wanna Partner. The series is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 12, 2025.

Motiwala, who gained fame for his unfiltered opinions on celebrity fashion on Instagram, is now expanding his horizons into the world of acting. With a significant following of over 373,000 on Instagram and a growing YouTube channel, Motiwala has established himself as a prominent voice in the Indian influencer landscape. His signature style involves dissecting celebrity looks with a blend of sass and sarcasm, earning him a dedicated fan base.

Before his acting debut, Motiwala appeared on the reality show The Traitors, also hosted by Karan Johar. On the show, which premiered on June 12, 2025, Motiwala quickly became a talking point due to his clashes with fellow contestants, most notably rapper Raftaar. During a group task, Raftaar accused Motiwala of being a traitor, leading to a heated exchange of words. The confrontation escalated, with Raftaar mocking Motiwala's strategy. In one instance, Raftaar was heard saying, "I know how to dominate you. I'm just going to laugh at you today". Despite the tensions, Motiwala maintained his composure, earning praise for his handling of the situation.

In Do You Wanna Partner, Motiwala will be part of an ensemble cast that includes Tamannaah Bhatia, Diana Penty, Nakuul Mehta, Jaaved Jaaferi, and Shweta Tiwari. The comedy-drama series revolves around two best friends, Shikha and Anahita, played by Bhatia and Penty, respectively, who embark on a journey to launch their own craft beer company. The series explores the challenges faced by ambitious women in a male-dominated industry, celebrating female friendships and the spirit of sisterhood.

Karan Johar, the producer of Do You Wanna Partner, describes the show as "audacious, vibrant, and unapologetically fun," highlighting the story's focus on the "grit, heart, and hustle of a new generation of entrepreneurs". He emphasizes the series' quirky and emotional nature, rooted in the Indian spirit of jugaad, a term that refers to innovative problem-solving and resourcefulness.

Do You Wanna Partner is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta serving as producers. The series is directed by Collin D'Cunha and Archit Kumar, with writing by Nandini Gupta, Aarsh Vora, and Mithun Gongopadhyay. The show was filmed against the backdrop of urban life, capturing the highs and lows of building a business from the ground up.
