The dynamic duo of Manoj Bajpayee and Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) are reuniting after nearly three decades for a new cinematic venture, "Police Station Mein Bhoot". This horror-comedy marks their first collaboration since "Shool" (1999) and promises a unique blend of scares and laughs.
Their reunion has generated considerable buzz, especially considering their history together. Bajpayee's career was significantly boosted by his unforgettable performance as Bhiku Mhatre in RGV's iconic 1998 gangster drama, "Satya". The pair also collaborated on other films such as "Kaun" (1999) and "Road" (2002).
The film's premise revolves around a police station that becomes haunted after a deadly encounter, with cops running in fear from the ghosts of gangsters. Manoj Bajpayee plays a police officer who becomes possessed by the spirit of a gangster he killed. RGV has stated that "Police Station Mein Bhoot" will feature cutting-edge VFX and spine-chilling horror effects, aiming to deliver a fun-filled yet terrifying experience.
The first look of "Police Station Mein Bhoot" features Bajpayee dressed as a cop in full uniform, holding a creepy, ragged doll smeared with mud and blood. The doll's oversized eyes add to the eerie vibe of the poster.
Adding to the excitement, Genelia Deshmukh is also part of the cast, marking her return to the big screen. Rajpal Yadav is also playing an important role in the film.
Filming commenced on July 26, 2025, in Hyderabad, with a bungalow transformed into a police station for the shoot. The unit will continue filming at other locations in the South. RGV aims to complete the film by the end of 2026.
RGV has explored various genres throughout his career, including gangster films, horror, romantic dramas, and thrillers. "Police Station Mein Bhoot" marks his first foray into horror-comedy. The film is produced by Vauve Emirates and Karma Media & Entertainment.
