Zydus Lifesciences
Zydus Lifesciences is expanding its reach in the US market through a strategic partnership with Synthon BV, a Netherlands-based company. The collaboration aims to introduce a generic version of Ozanimod capsules, a drug used to treat multiple sclerosis. Synthon will handle regulatory approvals, manufacturing, and supply, while Zydus will manage commercialization in the US. Synthon has already received tentative approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is eligible for shared 180-day exclusivity upon market entry. NTPC
NTPC, a state-owned power giant, has announced the permanent discontinuation of operations at its 440-MW Stage-I Tanda thermal project in Uttar Pradesh, effective September 1, 2025. This decision, approved by the competent authority, reduces the NTPC group's total installed and commercial capacity to 82,926 MW. The closure involves four units, each with a capacity of 110 MW. RVNL
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) and Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd are forming a joint venture to develop India's railway sector. The new company, which will focus on railway projects in India and abroad, is expected to be operational by November. The total investment for the JV is Rs 200 crore, with an initial infusion of Rs 10 crore to commence operations. RVNL has also secured a Rs 191.53 crore contract from the South Eastern Railway for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 132 KV traction substation.
TVS Motor
TVS Motor Company has launched the TVS NTORQ 150, which it is calling India's first hyper sport scooter designed for Gen Z riders. The scooter is powered by a 149.7cc race-tuned engine and offers first-in-segment features such as acceleration of 0-60 kmph in 6.3 seconds, ABS & Traction control System, and a hi-res TFT cluster with 50+ connected features. TVS Motors achieved record-breaking sales of 509,536 units in August, marking a 30% year-on-year increase.
