The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has voiced strong support for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, while also expressing serious concerns about infiltration, particularly in states like West Bengal. The organization's stance comes amid heightened political debate surrounding alleged illegal immigration and its potential impact on the demographic and electoral landscape of certain regions.

Several leaders within the RSS have articulated these concerns, with some claiming that a significant presence of infiltrators is creating security problems for Hindus and posing law and order challenges. Sunil Ambedkar, an RSS leader, stated that illegal infiltrators reside in Bengal and emphasized the necessity of stopping them. He also highlighted the impact of the changing situation in Bangladesh on West Bengal's security and law and order.

The RSS's concerns about infiltration are not new. In the past, the organization has raised the issue of religious conversions, alleging attempts to convert Hindus, especially those within tribal communities. The Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, the tribal wing of the RSS, has even urged tribal communities to "wage war" against purported Bangladeshi migrants, accusing them of trapping girls in "Love Jihad" and seizing their lands.

These concerns have often been framed within the context of demographic imbalance and the protection of local cultures and resources. RSS leaders have argued that every country has its own rules and regulations and that infiltration should be stopped to ensure the availability of resources for citizens. They have also asserted that illegal immigration can lead to law and order issues and pose a challenge to national security.

However, the issue of infiltration is a complex and politically charged one. Opposition parties have accused the BJP and RSS of exaggerating the problem to polarize voters and suppress the electoral participation of marginalized communities. They argue that the SIR exercise disproportionately targets legitimate voters and that the government has failed to provide concrete evidence of widespread infiltration.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has clarified that most removals from electoral rolls during the SIR were due to voters being deceased, having relocated, or having duplicate entries, rather than being identified as foreign nationals. The ECI has not released specific data confirming how many, if any, of the removed voters were Rohingya, Bangladeshi, or from other countries.

Despite these clarifications, the RSS maintains its stance on the issue, emphasizing the need for strict border control and measures to prevent illegal immigration. The organization's support for the SIR reflects its broader agenda of promoting national security and preserving the cultural identity of India. The RSS also endorsed the National Education Policy 2020, highlighting the importance of Indian languages. The debate around infiltration is expected to continue, especially as elections approach in states like West Bengal and Bihar.
