"The Conjuring: Last Rites," the latest installment in the renowned horror franchise, has taken the Indian box office by storm, achieving a remarkable ₹50 crore (estimated $6.25 million USD) weekend. The film's strong performance has outpaced Bollywood releases such as "Baaghi 4" and "The Bengal Files".

The film's opening day in India saw it earn an impressive ₹18 crore, surpassing the collections of "Baaghi 4" (₹12 crore), "The Bengal Files" (₹1 crore), and the Tamil film "Madharaasi" (₹14 crore). This strong start highlights a shift in audience preferences, with a Hollywood horror film taking the lead over major local productions. On its second day, the movie raked in another ₹17.5 crore, bringing the total to ₹35 crore in just two days. Early estimates for Sunday put earnings at ₹15.5 crore, pushing the film's three-day total to ₹50.50 crore.

"The Conjuring: Last Rites" has become the third highest-grossing Hollywood horror release in India, trailing only "The Conjuring 2" (₹61.80 crore) and "Final Destination Bloodlines" (₹62.12 crore). The English version of the film contributed an estimated ₹27.55 crore, while the Hindi dubbed version collected around ₹18.73 crore. The Tamil and Telugu versions together added approximately ₹3 crore.

Internationally, "The Conjuring: Last Rites" has also performed strongly, earning $8.5 million in previews and projected to earn over $100 million globally in its opening weekend. The film ultimately delivered a phenomenal $187 million worldwide opening.

In contrast, "Baaghi 4," starring Tiger Shroff, earned ₹12 crore on its opening day, which dropped to ₹9 crore on Saturday. "The Bengal Files" struggled to make an impact, earning around ₹3.5 crore in total. "Baaghi 4" collected Rs 31.25 crore over its three-day weekend, while "The Bengal Files" faltered with just Rs 6.65 crore.

"The Conjuring: Last Rites" stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, reprising their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren, who confront a terrifying demon haunting a family's home.
