The Delhi Police Special Cell has apprehended five individuals in connection with a terror case with links to Pakistan. The arrests were made following a series of raids conducted across multiple states. Authorities have also recovered components used in the construction of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The investigation revealed that the arrested individuals were in contact with handlers based in Pakistan through encrypted social media platforms. These platforms are currently under forensic scrutiny. According to investigators, the terror module was being coordinated by Ashraf Danish, who operated from within India while maintaining close ties with individuals in Pakistan. Danish is believed to have played a key role in radicalizing Indian youth and recruiting them into the terror network.
Police sources indicate that the group was also running multiple online groups aimed at spreading communal hatred and disrupting religious harmony. As part of the counterterrorism operation, raids were conducted across four to five states, during which nearly eight suspects were questioned. So far, five individuals have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism-related activities, including two from Delhi and one each from Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad, and Ranchi.
One of the arrested suspects, identified as Danish, was found in possession of a country-made pistol, live ammunition, and a cache of materials suspected to be used in bomb-making. The Delhi Police Special Cell recovered hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulfur powder, copper sheets, ball bearings, strip wires, electronic circuits, laptops, mobile phones, and cash from him. Authorities believe these items were intended for the fabrication of explosives and other weapons.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the full extent of the terror network and its connections. The arrests and recovery of IED components represent a significant breakthrough in counterterrorism efforts. Law enforcement agencies are on high alert and are taking all necessary measures to prevent any potential attacks.
