According to Lt Gen KJS Dhillon (Retd), during Operation Sindoor, Pakistani air defenses failed to intercept a single Indian missile. Dhillon shared insights regarding India's strategic victory where India precisely struck 11 Pakistani airbases on May 10.
Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Army on May 7, 2025, as a retaliatory missile and air strike campaign targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam. The operation included precision strikes on militant camps. Following these strikes, there were border skirmishes and drone strikes between the two countries.
India has consistently maintained that Pakistan uses core terrorism values and tactics, such as a death by a thousand shirts, that have no place in the modern world, and that they have been targeting civilians, which is unacceptable. India has sent a clear message nationally and internationally at various forums and summits that such acts will not be tolerated.
Key Points of Operation Sindoor:
Lt Gen KJS Dhillon (Retd) has also revealed that the Pakistan Army chief hid in a bunker during Operation Sindoor, exposing the Pakistan Army's weak leadership. He further noted that Pakistan put out a list of 138 names of soldiers and officers who were given gallantry awards as shahid for this operation, but then suddenly removed it. Dhillon's book, "Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India's Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan," covers the lead-up to the Pulwama and Pahalgam attacks, the differences between the two incidents, and the rationale behind the Pahalgam operation.
