Amidst unsettling news from her family home in Uttar Pradesh, Bollywood actress Disha Patani put on a brave face as she attended a Calvin Klein event in New York City. The actress, who is the face of Calvin Klein in India, shared glimpses of the event on her social media, showcasing her commitment to her professional engagements despite the distressing circumstances.
Patani's presence at the event comes on the heels of a reported incident where gunshots were fired outside her family's residence in Bareilly. According to reports, two individuals on a motorbike discharged firearms near the Patani household around 3:30 am on September 12th. Disha's father, Jagdish Patani, a retired police officer, stated that approximately 8 to 10 rounds were fired at their home in Civil Lines. Fortunately, Jagdish, Disha's mother Padma, and her elder sister Khushboo were unharmed during the incident, and police are currently investigating the matter.
Prior to the incident, Disha was last seen in Mumbai on September 9th, before flying out to attend New York Fashion Week (NYFW) as a special guest of Calvin Klein, which further solidifies her presence on the global fashion scene. The actress has previously been featured in campaigns for the brand and holds the title of "Friend of the Brand". She was warmly welcomed to New York by the Calvin Klein team.
At the NYFW event, Disha was part of Veronica Leoni's Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2026 runway show and wore a stunning, backless maxi dress. The event was attended by several international stars, including Lily Collins, BTS member Jungkook, Christopher Briney, Naomi Watts, and Emily Ratajkowski.
Calvin Klein made a return to the New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2025 runway after 6.5 years, with Disha Patani as the face from India. Disha's presence at Calvin Klein's NYFW showcase aimed to maximize media visibility and social media traction, reinforcing her image as the Indian brand ambassador and driving local relevance for the global brand moment. The goal was to amplify Calvin Klein's NYFW SS'25 runway comeback in India, highlight Disha Patani's exclusive positioning as the only Indian brand ambassador attending the show, and ensure high-impact earned media and social buzz across top fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment platforms.
The media outreach included strategic press notes, press release dissemination highlighting the brand's return and Disha's role, celebrity amplification strategy, and digital PR execution via tailored communication across platforms. This resulted in widespread coverage across digital and social media platforms, elevating Calvin Klein's cultural relevance and fashion equity in India.
