Samir Modi, the brother of fugitive businessman and former IPL chief Lalit Modi, was apprehended by the Delhi Police on Thursday, September 18, 2025. The arrest was made by officers from the New Friends Colony police station in Delhi. Samir Modi faces charges of rape in an old case.

News agency ANI reported the arrest. Samir Modi, 55, is the Executive Director of Godfrey Phillips India. He was taken into custody at the Indira Gandhi International Airport while attempting to board a flight out of Delhi.
