Salman Khan, the host of Bigg Boss 19, strongly criticized contestant Mridul Tiwari during the recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode, as seen in a teaser released by JioHotstar. Khan questioned Mridul's lack of individual presence in the house, suggesting he was always under someone else's shadow and behaving like a "+1".
Salman directly addressed Mridul's gameplay, stating, "Aap humesha kisi ke chatra chaya mein chal rahe ho! Plus one ke category mein nazar aa rahe ho aap". This translates to, "You are always playing under someone in the house! You seem to have fallen in the plus one category". He further inquired about Mridul's follower count on social media, to which Mridul responded that he has 35 million followers.
However, Salman wasn't impressed. He retorted, "Aap ko aisa lagta hain ki chahe mein kuch bhi karoon ya naa karoon itne vote toh aa hi jayenge. Nahi dega koi. Ab yaha pe jab dikhayi nahi de rahe ho toh ap ke followers waqt aane par definitely haath khada kar denge!". In English, this means, "You think whether you do something or not, your followers will always vote for you. That will not happen. Let me tell you that now that you are not visible, then when the time comes, your followers will also take a backseat!". Salman implied that Mridul might be relying too heavily on his existing fanbase and not actively engaging in the game within the Bigg Boss house.
This isn't the first time Mridul's performance has come under scrutiny. He has been perceived as someone who is tagging along with others instead of playing individually. Some viewers felt his interactions with fellow contestant Natalia Janoszek limited her ability to showcase her individual personality. Natalia herself acknowledged that she felt the only conversations about her were in the context of her connections with Mridul and Baseer Ali, which made her uncomfortable.
Mridul Tiwari, a YouTuber known for his comedic sketches, gained initial fame in 2019 with his viral video "School Life". Before entering Bigg Boss 19, he was also known for a controversial incident involving his Lamborghini.
The Weekend Ka Vaar episode featuring Salman's critique is expected to reveal how Mridul responds to the criticism and whether it will motivate him to adopt a more assertive and visible role in the Bigg Boss house.
The "Weekend Ka Vaar" episode is a highly anticipated segment of Bigg Boss, where Salman Khan reviews the week's events and provides feedback to the contestants. Last week, filmmaker Farah Khan stepped in as host while Salman was busy with a film shoot. This week marks Salman's return to the show.
Other highlights from recent Bigg Boss 19 episodes include Abhishek Bajaj winning the captaincy after a task involving squeezing through holes in a jumbo cheese block. This victory followed a tense challenge against Amaal Mallik. Also, a heated argument erupted between Baseer Ali and Gaurav Khanna in the kitchen, with Baseer questioning Gaurav's journey in the house. Ashnoor Kaur confessed to Awez Darbar that she purposely lost the captaincy task so Abhishek could win.
