On September 23, 2025, Bollywood actress Dia Mirza shared glimpses from anti-Israel protests in New York City on her Instagram. The demonstration took place outside the United Nations, coinciding with discussions among several countries regarding the recognition of Palestine and preceding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to the UN General Assembly.
The protesters called for the arrest of Netanyahu, aligning with the International Criminal Court warrant that accuses him of war crimes against the Palestinian people.
Mirza has previously voiced her opinions on the Israel-Palestine conflict. In November 2023, she made a public plea for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, condemning the violence following what she described as Israel's "longest and most brutal attack on Palestine". Mirza emphasized the need to prioritize humanity and stated, "Nothing justifies the killing of children. Ceasefire for humanity now". She has also stressed the importance of safeguarding children, regardless of their nationality, and urged all involved parties to cease hostilities.
In May 2024, after an Israeli strike on Rafah, which resulted in the deaths of numerous displaced Palestinians, including children, Mirza expressed her frustration and anger on Instagram, reposting a photo from a pro-Palestine protest with a "Let Gaza live" poster.
