Union Home Minister Amit Shah has set an ambitious target for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to win over 160 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Bihar has a total of 243 seats in the legislative assembly. Shah urged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to visit every household and communicate the NDA government's accomplishments.
Addressing approximately 4,200 party workers from 10 organizational districts in Forbesganj, Araria, Shah framed the election as a battle to expel every single infiltrator from the state and permanently free it from the "loot" of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress regimes. He attacked the RJD and Congress, asserting that their campaigns aim to protect the voting rights of infiltrators. Shah promised to drive out every "ghuspaithiya" (infiltrator) from Bihar if the NDA wins the election. He accused Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav of protecting infiltrators for vote bank politics.
Shah also introduced a new election strategy, the "Triple M" formula: Mahila (women), Modi, and Mandir (temple). He directed workers to focus on women voters, highlight Prime Minister Modi's achievements, and celebrate the construction of the Ram Mandir and the Sita temple in Sitamarhi.
Furthermore, Shah outlined what he called "four Diwalis" that Bihar will celebrate:
- The return of Lord Ram to his temple in Ayodhya.
- PM Modi's scheme providing ₹10,000 each to 7.5 million women in Bihar for employment.
- The reduction in prices of over 395 items due to Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms.
- The formation of an NDA government in Bihar with over 160 seats.
Shah boosted the morale of party workers, calling them "malik" (master) and emphasizing that, unlike other parties, BJP workers are the ones who win elections for the party. He stated that the coming Bihar election is for the state's further development, to make the country stronger, and to strengthen the hands of PM Narendra Modi.
Recalling the last assembly polls in the state, Shah noted that the NDA was number one in the districts of Seemanchal and Kosi regions, except in Kishanganj, and urged workers to conquer it in 2025. He also declared that no bona fide Indian citizen's name had been removed in the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state. Shah asserted that this election is about ensuring Tejashwi Yadav becomes the Chief Minister, but for the BJP, the campaign is focused on driving out "infiltrators" from Bihar and preventing the return of "jungle raj".
