October 4 Fuel Update: Petrol and Diesel Prices Released – Find the Latest Rates in Your City Now.

As of October 4, 2025, petrol and diesel prices continue to fluctuate based on a combination of international crude oil prices, currency exchange rates, and government policies. These factors cause variations in fuel costs across different cities and states.

Global Market Influences

Global developments significantly impact local fuel prices. Concerns about a potential global market oversupply due to increased OPEC+ production, shifts in regional fuel flows to meet autumn demands in the U.S. and Europe, and the effects of Russia's oil export bans all play a role. Additionally, new U.S. sanctions on Iran and refinery maintenance in some regions contribute to price adjustments.

According to Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas, crude oil prices have recently declined sharply due to concerns about a market glut from potentially higher OPEC+ production. However, Asian diesel market fundamentals remain high due to the shift in regional flows to the West and Russia's partial diesel export ban, raising the risk of supply shortages. Asian gasoline price benchmarks have decreased as inventories have climbed and seasonal demand has softened. However, supply tightness is expected due to refinery outages, demand from Indonesia, and Russia's nationwide gasoline export ban.

The retail price of diesel at service stations has decreased to 31.44 baht per litre, and all types of gasoline have also dropped by 50 satang per litre, effective October 4, 2025.

Zambia Price Adjustments

The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) in Zambia has revised upwards the pump prices of diesel, petrol, kerosene, and Jet A-1 for October 2025. The new pump prices are K26.20/litre for diesel and K30.58/litre for petrol. These prices took effect on October 1, 2025.

Factors Influencing Price Changes

Several factors influence these price changes. International oil prices, the exchange rate between the Kwacha and the United States Dollar, state taxes, transportation costs, and local market conditions all play a role.
