PM Launches Andhra Pradesh Projects: Inauguration and Foundation Stone Laying for Rs 13,430 Crore Development

Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Andhra Pradesh today, October 16, 2025, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth approximately Rs 13,430 crore. These projects encompass a range of key sectors, including industry, power transmission, roads, railways, defense manufacturing, and petroleum and natural gas. This initiative highlights the government's dedication to enhancing regional infrastructure, accelerating industrialization, and driving inclusive socio-economic growth within the state.

The Prime Minister's itinerary began with a special flight to Orvakal Airport. From there, he proceeded to Srisailam in Nandyal district, where he performed Pooja and Darshan at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam. This temple is revered as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the 52 Shakti Peethas, uniquely housing both within the same complex.

Following the temple visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial complex commemorating Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's historic 1677 pilgrimage to the shrine. The Kendra features a Dhyana Mandir (Meditation Hall) with models of four iconic forts—Pratapgad, Rajgad, Raigad, and Shivneri—and a central statue of Shivaji Maharaj in meditation.

Later in the day, in Kurnool, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate, lay the foundation stone, and dedicate to the nation various development projects. A public address is also planned at Ragamayuri grounds near Nannur Toll Plaza, centered around the theme "Super GST - Super Saver". An attendance of approximately three lakh people is expected at the event.

Among the key projects is the Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III Pooling Station, with an investment of over Rs 2,880 crore. This includes the construction of a 765 KV double-circuit Kurnool-III Pooling Station–Chilakaluripeta transmission line, which will increase transformation capacity and enable large-scale transmission of renewable energy.

Other projects include laying the foundation stone for the six-lane Greenfield Highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar, costing over Rs 960 crore, to ease congestion in Visakhapatnam and facilitate trade and employment. Six road projects worth Rs 1,140 crore will also be inaugurated to improve safety, reduce travel time, and strengthen regional connectivity. Additionally, the foundation stone will be laid for the Kottavalasa-Vizianagaram Fourth Railway Line and the Rail Flyover between Pendurti and Simhachalam North. The doubling of the Kottavalasa-Boddavara section and the Shimiliguda-Gorapur section will also be dedicated to the nation.

These projects reflect the government's commitment to enhancing infrastructure, promoting industrialization, and fostering socio-economic growth in Andhra Pradesh.
