Canva Users in India Report Technical Difficulties
Users in India are reporting widespread technical issues with the popular online graphic design platform Canva. Reports of server errors and accessibility problems began surfacing around 7 PM IST on October 14, 2025, with the number of reports peaking around 8 PM IST. This disruption marks the second major outage for Canva in the last six months, causing considerable frustration among users and leading to "Canva down" trending on social media platform X.
According to DownDetector, nearly 2,650 reports of downtime were recorded, with a significant portion originating from India. Specifically, almost 2000 reports indicated problems with the website (71%), server connection (17%), and the app (12%). Some users reported receiving a "503 - Server error" message. Even the Canva iOS app seems to be experiencing issues, with some users reporting an error message on the landing page.
Canva acknowledged the disruption and stated that they are actively working to resolve the server errors. The company issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "We're a bit under the weather right now, but we're already fixing things". They also directed users to their status page for updates.
The outage has affected a wide range of users, including creative professionals, marketers, and students, disrupting their workflows. Many have taken to social media to express their frustration, sharing memes and posts about the platform's inaccessibility.
This isn't the first time Canva has experienced such issues. In July 2025, users faced problems with saving and viewing designs. The company acknowledged the outage and implemented a fix. At that time, reports surfaced mainly from users in the US, complaining about features not working and the platform being unresponsive, particularly on the web version.
Canva, which boasts over 200 million monthly active users and has integrated AI tools into its platform, has been actively updating users on X. The company has acknowledged problems, including issues with design saving, real-time comments, notifications, and CanvaAI-related features.
As of October 20, 2025, Canva's status page indicates that they are still experiencing significantly increased error rates impacting functionality. Their team is actively investigating the issue and working to restore full access as quickly as possible. Users may encounter issues with accessing or using Canva.
For users experiencing issues, Canva recommends checking their status page for updates and visiting the Help Center for more information. The company is urging users to wait a moment before trying again or returning to the Canva homepage.
