Samsung Backs Young Indian Innovators with ₹1 Crore for AI Solutions Driving Social Change.

Samsung Awards ₹1 Crore in Grants to Young Indian Innovators for AI-Powered Solutions

Samsung India has announced the winners of the fourth edition of its Solve for Tomorrow program, awarding ₹1 crore in grants to young Indian innovators developing AI-powered solutions to address real-world challenges. The national education and innovation initiative encourages students to leverage technology for the betterment of their communities. This year's contest saw participation from thousands of students across India, who presented innovative solutions aligned with four key themes: AI for a Safer, Smarter Bharat, Health and Well-being, Environmental Sustainability, and Social Change through Sport and Tech.

The top four winning teams—Percevia from Bengaluru, NextPlay.AI from Aurangabad, Paraspeak from Gurugram, and Prithvi Rakshak from Palamu—will each receive a portion of the ₹1 crore incubation grant to further develop their prototypes into market-ready solutions. In addition to the funding, the winning teams will receive mentorship and support at IIT Delhi's FITT Labs, providing them with access to advanced R&D infrastructure to refine their concepts before launch. For the first time, finalists had access to IIT Delhi's advanced R&D infrastructure to improve their concepts before the finale.

Percevia, one of the winning teams from Bengaluru, developed an AI-powered wearable glasses system designed to assist visually impaired users. The system identifies objects and provides real-time spatial feedback through voice and vibration cues, enhancing navigation and awareness for users. NextPlay.AI, a team from Aurangabad, created a mobile-first platform that combines an AI Virtual Coach, AI Referee, and Neuro-Inclusive Tracker to promote fairness and inclusion in sports.

Paraspeak, a team from Gurugram, developed a deep-learning device that converts slurred speech into clear communication for individuals with speech disorders, facilitating improved communication and quality of life. Prithvi Rakshak, the fourth winning team from Palamu, created a gamified sustainability app that encourages tree adoption, recycling, and eco-friendly habits through community engagement. The app aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices through interactive and rewarding experiences.

The winners were selected at a grand finale event in New Delhi after a rigorous six-month program that included mentorship, prototype testing, and bootcamps. The top 20 finalists were also recognized for their innovation and dedication, receiving ₹1 lakh each and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphones.

Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow program underscores the company's commitment to nurturing India's innovation ecosystem and empowering young minds to create impactful solutions for societal challenges. By providing funding, mentorship, and access to advanced resources, Samsung aims to facilitate the development and deployment of AI-powered solutions that can contribute to a better future for India. The program highlights the potential of technology to drive social change and inspires young innovators to address pressing issues in their communities.
