On his 60th birthday, December 27, 2025, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan unveiled the teaser for his upcoming war drama, "Battle of Galwan". The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and also stars Chitrangda Singh. The teaser release has generated immense excitement among fans, who are calling it the "best gift".
The "Battle of Galwan" is based on the deadly clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in 2020 in the Galwan Valley, a disputed region of Ladakh. The conflict was notable because it was fought without firearms due to prior agreements and resulted in the first casualties in the Sino-Indian border standoff in over four decades. The film aims to portray the bravery, sacrifice, and resilience of the Indian soldiers involved in the conflict.
The teaser offers a glimpse of the icy Galwan River, setting the backdrop for the intense conflict. It features Khan in a commanding avatar as an Indian Army officer, sporting a rugged look with a bloodied face and intense expression. The poster features the tagline: “Over 15,000 feet above sea level, India fought its most brutal battle without firing a single bullet". The teaser ends with Salman delivering the line, “Maut se mat daro, maut toh aani hai,” which translates to "Don't be afraid of death, death is inevitable".
The teaser, released on social media, quickly went viral, with fans praising Khan's intense look, strong screen presence, and the film's patriotic theme. The music for the film is composed by Himesh Reshammiya, with vocals by Stebin Ben.
Khan celebrated his 60th birthday with a private gathering at his Panvel farmhouse. The celebration was attended by his family, close friends, and industry colleagues, including Karisma Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Genelia Deshmukh, Rakul Preet Singh, Huma Qureshi, MS Dhoni, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan. A special video featuring messages from directors he has collaborated with across his career was also curated for the actor. Khan also greeted fans and paparazzi outside his farmhouse, cutting a cake and posing for photographs.
Salman Khan's bodyguard, Shera, also shared a heartfelt message on social media, expressing his gratitude and admiration for the actor.
