Salman Khan's Flood Relief: Bollywood Star Dispatches Boats to Rescue Villagers Stranded in Punjab Floods.

As Punjab grappled with severe flooding in September 2025 due to unrelenting monsoon rains, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan stepped forward to assist in the relief efforts. Through his non-profit organization, Being Human Foundation, Khan provided rescue boats and pledged further support to help the affected communities.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Being Human Foundation dispatched boats to assist in rescuing stranded residents in the flood-hit areas. Initial reports indicated five boats were sent. However, later reports stated that the foundation had sent a total of 25 rescue boats to the most affected regions, including Ajnala, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, and nearby villages. Three of the boats were immediately put into service, aiding in the evacuation of people, distribution of essential supplies, and support of volunteers working in challenging terrains. The remaining boats were officially handed over at the Ferozepur border.

Deepak Bali, Chairman of Punjab Tourism, confirmed that Being Human Foundation planned to adopt flood-affected villages near Husainiwala. This commitment signals a long-term rehabilitation effort for the devastated communities.

In addition to providing immediate relief, Khan focused on long-term rehabilitation plans for the state. He arranged for 500,000 tablets of Doxycycline and Azithromycin (antibiotics), along with chlorine tablets for water disinfection, anticipating a rise in infections and diseases after the floods. The Being Human team also enlisted private doctors to visit the villages once the water receded. They planned to set up temporary medical centers in the affected villages to provide medical assistance and other aid.

To ensure effective aid distribution, Khan mobilized his fan clubs in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Punjab to identify affected families and relay the information to his team. Despite being in Ladakh for the filming of "Battle of Galwan," Khan remained in constant communication with his team, overseeing the progress of the relief efforts.

Khan addressed the flood situation in Punjab during a "Weekend Ka Vaar" episode of Bigg Boss 19. He stated that he and his team were doing everything possible to help, including contributing to the relief fund. He also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of Punjabi singers who had put aside their rivalries to support the relief work.

Furthermore, the superstar instructed his team to prepare 25,000 ration packets, each containing essential food items like dal, rice, wheat, mixed masala, sugar, and tea leaves. These packets were to be distributed in affected areas such as Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Firozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, and Hoshiarpur, pending approval from local authorities.

The floods in Punjab claimed 51 lives and caused widespread damage. The efforts of Salman Khan and Being Human Foundation, along with other Bollywood and Punjabi film industry celebrities, provided much-needed support to the affected communities, offering both immediate relief and long-term assistance for recovery. Other notable contributions included Sonu Sood's on-site visits to flood-affected areas and Diljit Dosanjh's adoption of 10 villages.
