Dumraon, Bihar – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament, Manoj Tiwari, has alleged that his convoy was attacked by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) miscreants during a roadshow in Dumraon, Bihar. The incident occurred amidst heightened political activity in the lead-up to the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
According to Tiwari, the attack took place while he was campaigning for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates. He claimed that RJD supporters targeted his convoy with stones and other projectiles, causing damage to vehicles and endangering the safety of those present.
"It is unfortunate that such incidents are taking place during the election season," Tiwari stated. "This is a clear attempt by the RJD to create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. However, we will not be deterred by these tactics and will continue to take our message of development and progress to the people of Bihar".
The BJP MP has urged the Election Commission to take immediate action and ensure the safety and security of all candidates and campaigners. He has also called on the RJD leadership to condemn the attack and take steps to prevent such incidents from recurring.
The RJD has yet to issue an official statement regarding the allegations. However, sources within the party have denied any involvement in the alleged attack. They claim that the incident may have been staged by the BJP to gain sympathy and divert attention from their own shortcomings.
The incident comes against the backdrop of a heated election campaign in Bihar, with the NDA and the RJD-led grand alliance locked in a fierce battle for political supremacy. Both sides have been trading barbs and accusations, with the issue of law and order taking center stage.
Recently, RJD MP Manoj Jha accused the Bihar government of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by transferring Rs 10,000 to women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana after the poll schedule was announced. He highlighted that further disbursements are planned before the second phase of polls, potentially influencing voters.
The Election Commission has ordered the transfer of Patna SP (Rural) following violence after murder of Jan Suraaj Party supporter in Bihar's Mokama. The commission also ordered disciplinary action against other officials in connection with the Assembly constituency violence.
The political climate in Bihar remains tense as the state approaches the election day. Authorities are taking extra precautions to maintain law and order and ensure a free and fair electoral process. The Election Commission has deployed additional security forces and is closely monitoring the situation to prevent any further incidents of violence or intimidation.
