Amit Shah's Prediction: NDA to Secure 160 Seats and a Comfortable Two-Thirds Majority Government

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has confidently predicted a resounding victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Shah asserted that the NDA would secure 160 out of the 243 seats, paving the way for the coalition to form the government with a two-thirds majority for the fifth time since 2005.

Speaking at the NDTV Bihar Power Play conclave on November 1, 2025, Shah conveyed unwavering confidence in the electorate's support, emphasizing Bihar's political awareness and the significant progress witnessed over the past two decades. He gave credit to the Nitish Kumar-led government for the transformation of Bihar's law-and-order situation, which he described as the foundation for development. Shah assured that Bihar feels safer under Kumar's leadership.

Shah presented a detailed report card of Bihar's development, highlighting key achievements such as the construction of four bridges over the Ganga River, with ten more in the pipeline, a comprehensive blueprint for self-employment, and the near eradication of Maoist activity. He contrasted the current discourse of progress and opportunity with the past, which he said revolved around robbery and violence.

Reiterating the NDA's leadership stance, Shah affirmed that Nitish Kumar remains the face of the alliance. He stated that the NDA is contesting under Kumar's leadership and that he is their Chief Minister. Shah clarified that the final decision on the Chief Ministerial post would follow constitutional procedures after the elections.

Addressing a gathering of party workers from the Seemanchal districts in Araria, Shah attacked the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-Congress combine, claiming their campaigns aimed to protect the voting rights of infiltrators. He vowed to expel every infiltrator from the state and the country. He also highlighted central initiatives such as the establishment of a makhana board, development of Purnia airport, new railway services, welfare schemes including free ration and sanitation, and hydroelectric projects.

Shah boosted the morale of party workers, addressing them as "malik," and emphasizing that, unlike other parties, it is the BJP workers who win elections for the party. He stated that the coming Bihar election is for the state's further development, to make the country stronger, and to strengthen the hands of PM Narendra Modi. Shah recalled the last assembly polls in the state, noting that the NDA was number one in the districts of Seemanchal and Kosi regions, except in Kishanganj, and urged workers to conquer it in 2025.
