MGB Government's "Job Guarantee": Tejashwi Yadav Promises Employment Opportunities for the People under New Scheme.

Patna, November 9, 2025 – Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has pledged a "job guarantee" for the youth of Bihar, irrespective of caste or creed, should the INDIA bloc form a government in the state. This promise forms a cornerstone of the Mahagathbandhan (MGB) manifesto, which aims to provide one government job for every family in Bihar.

Yadav asserted that within 20 days of the MGB assuming power, a law would be enacted to ensure this job guarantee. He aims to ensure that no household in Bihar is left without a government job. This commitment addresses a core concern among Bihari households, where many feel compelled to seek better opportunities outside the state.

The MGB manifesto outlines several key proposals aimed at bolstering employment and welfare in Bihar. These include:

  • Job Creation: Prioritizing government jobs for at least one member of every family.
  • Permanent Status for Contractual Workers: Converting all contractual and outsourced workers to permanent employees.
  • Old Pension Scheme (OPS): Reverting to the Old Pension Scheme.
  • Jeevika Didis: Granting permanent status to Jeevika Didis, community workers and mobilizers, and providing them with a salary of ₹30,000.
  • Free Electricity: Providing every family with 200 units of free electricity and free electricity for farmers.
  • Financial Assistance for Women: Under the 'Mai-Behin Maan Yojana', women will receive ₹2,500 per month for five years, starting December 1.
  • Youth Commission: Forming a youth commission.
  • No Application Fee: Waiving application fees for job applications for students.

In addition to job creation, the MGB manifesto focuses on skill-based employment, promoting agro-industries, and improving tourism within Bihar. Emphasis is also placed on giving a push to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), recognizing the small land holdings in the state.

Yadav has criticized the current Bihar government for neglecting employment issues over the past two decades. He further stated that the previous BJP government claimed to offer 19 lakh employment opportunities but failed to deliver actual jobs. He highlighted his own efforts during his previous 17-month tenure as Deputy Chief Minister, claiming to have provided five lakh jobs.

The MGB also aims to increase the reservation for Most Backward Classes in Panchayat and Municipal bodies from the current 20% to 30%. For Scheduled Castes (SCs), the limit will be raised from 16% to 20%, with a proportionate increase for Scheduled Tribes (STs).

With the Bihar elections approaching, Tejashwi Yadav is making a strong push to connect with voters by addressing their concerns about unemployment and promising a more prosperous future with guaranteed employment opportunities.
