Millie Bobby Brown Reveals Tom Cruise Inspiration for Eleven's Final Stranger Things Season Performance.

Millie Bobby Brown, the actress famed for her role as Eleven in "Stranger Things," has revealed that she channeled her "inner Tom Cruise" for the show's fifth and final season. Brown made the revelation during a "For Your Consideration" event over the weekend, where she joined her co-stars Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Jamie Campbell Bower, the Duffer Brothers (creators), and executive producer Shawn Levy.

Brown, who portrays the telepathic Eleven, stated that her character's arc in the final season demanded more than just psychic abilities, emphasizing Eleven's physical capabilities. "It was really exciting to be more of a resource this season, not just because of her powers but also her physical training and attributes that she's put herself through," she said.

Brown said that she underwent months of training led by the Duffer Brothers to prepare for the physically demanding role. "The Duffers have been training me for this moment," Brown told The Hollywood Reporter. She added, "It was really fun, I definitely channeled my inner Tom Cruise...I feel like Volume One only touches on what she's been training for, and I'm really excited for everyone to see what that leads to".

This isn't the first time Brown has likened her stunt work to that of Tom Cruise. While promoting "Damsel" in 2024, she mentioned doing her stunts "from start to finish," drawing parallels to Cruise's reputation for performing practical stunts.

The final season of "Stranger Things" is set to premiere on Netflix next month, with the first volume of four episodes debuting on November 26. The second volume, comprising three episodes, will be released on December 25, followed by the series finale on December 31. The fifth season will consist of eight episodes titled The Crawl, The Vanishing of…, The Turnbow Trap, Sorcerer, Shock Jock, Escape from Camazotz, The Bridge and The Rightside Up.

The series, set in the 1980s, revolves around the residents of Hawkins, Indiana, as they face supernatural occurrences stemming from a gateway between Earth and an alternate dimension. The final season picks up a year after the events of the fourth season, in the fall of 1987. The main cast includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Jamie Campbell Bower. Amybeth McNulty has been promoted to the main cast, with new additions including Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and Linda Hamilton.

"Stranger Things" has been a massive hit since its debut in 2016, garnering a dedicated fan base. Millie Bobby Brown's portrayal of Eleven has been central to the show's success, with viewers witnessing her character's growth and the development of her telekinetic powers over the past four seasons.
