Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, aged 89, is currently hospitalized in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital, prompting concerns and a flurry of reports regarding his health. Amidst rising concerns and conflicting reports, his son, Sunny Deol, has issued a statement clarifying his father's condition.
According to a statement released by Sunny Deol's team on Monday, November 10, 2025, Dharmendra is "stable and under observation". The statement further requested that everyone pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family's right to privacy. The family has not revealed specific details about Dharmendra's condition.
The statement from Sunny Deol's team directly addresses and refutes rumors that the actor has been placed on ventilator support. Several reports had surfaced suggesting that Dharmendra's health was critical and that he was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a ventilator. Sunny Deol's team has dismissed these claims as "false rumours" and "rumour mongering," assuring fans that the actor is "getting better" and is being continuously monitored by doctors. A source close to Sunny Deol told The Indian Express that "the entire ventilator story is untrue".
Hema Malini, Dharmendra's wife, also addressed the concerns via social media. She thanked everyone for their concern and stated that Dharmendra is in the hospital for observation and is being continuously monitored. She requested everyone to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery and also posted a throwback picture of Dharmendra.
Dharmendra had been admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital earlier in the week. While some reports suggest he was admitted due to breathlessness, others indicated that he was there for routine checkups. On October 31, Dharmendra's team clarified that a previous hospital visit was solely for routine medical examinations and that there was no cause for concern.
Several family members have been seen visiting Dharmendra at the hospital, including Sunny Deol with his sons Karan and Rajveer, and Hema Malini. Actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan also visited the veteran actor to check on his health.
The Deol family is requesting that the public refrain from spreading unverified information and respect their privacy during this time. Further updates on Dharmendra's condition will be shared as they become available.
