Mathura, November 15, 2025 – Bollywood personalities Shilpa Shetty and Rajpal Yadav, along with television producer Ektaa Kapoor, joined Bageshwar Baba Dhirendra Krishna Shastri's Sanatan Hindu Ekta Padyatra in Mathura on Friday. The Padyatra, led by Bageshwar Dham Chief Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, entered Mathura on its seventh day, aiming to cover 55 kilometers across the city over four days to promote unity and Sanatan values among devotees.
Videos and photos of Shilpa Shetty and Rajpal Yadav's participation have gone viral on social media, with fans expressing their happiness at seeing them support the cause. In one video, Rajpal Yadav is seen already on stage, with Shilpa Shetty joining him shortly after.
The event also hosted journalist Shrivardhan Trivedi, alongside the Bollywood stars. A speaker at the event acknowledged the presence of "kathakar, kalakar, and patrakar (storyteller, artist, and journalist)," highlighting the diverse participation in the Padyatra.
The Sanatan Hindu Ekta Padyatra, scheduled from November 7th to 16th, began in Delhi's Chhatarpur Temple and will conclude in Vrindavan. Dhirendra Shastri will hoist a religious flag at the Banke Bihari Temple on the final day. Authorities anticipated that over 50,000 people would participate in the Yatra. To manage the expected crowds, traffic diversions were implemented on National Highway-19 from November 13th to 16th.
During the Padyatra, Dhirendra Shastri administered oaths to attendees, urging them to uphold Sanatan Dharma, eliminate social disparities like untouchability, and strive to establish India as a Hindu nation. The presence of religious figures like Sadhvi Prem Baisa has amplified the message of unity.
The Padyatra caused traffic diversions in Mathura from November 13th to 16th, particularly affecting National Highway-19. Heavy vehicles were rerouted via the Yamuna Expressway. Emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire services, were exempted from these restrictions.
The administration faced a significant challenge in managing the large crowds, especially in Vrindavan. Authorities have been working to control the crowds, with police managing traffic flow on the highway.
The Padyatra has drawn a large number of devotees, aiming to reinforce the principles of Sanatan Dharma and promote social harmony.
