Global music icon Akon has arrived in Mumbai, sending waves of excitement through the city ahead of his concert on November 16, 2025. The Senegalese-American singer, known for his chart-topping hits and collaborations with Indian cinema, touched down in Mumbai accompanied by his wife, Tomeka Thiam.

Akon's arrival in Mumbai marks the final leg of his three-city India tour, which includes performances in Delhi and Bengaluru. The "Smack That" singer is set to perform at NESCO Hall 6 in Goregaon. Tickets for the Mumbai concert range from INR 6,499 to INR 19,999.

A video circulating online shows Akon and Tomeka at the airport, greeting the paparazzi with warm smiles. Akon sported a comfortable co-ord set, while Tomeka wore an all-black ensemble. The couple's appearance together comes after reports of Tomeka filing for divorce in September, adding a layer of intrigue to their united front. Despite the personal challenges, they appeared cheerful and engaged with the media. When asked about his return to India, Akon quipped, "It's been a long flight, I'm tired," while Tomeka added, "India, we love you!".

Akon's Mumbai concert is expected to feature his biggest global hits, including "Smack That," "Lonely," "Don't Matter," "Beautiful," "Right Now (Na Na Na)," and his Bollywood hit "Chammak Challo". The concert aims to create an immersive experience, blending cutting-edge production with the timeless magic of Akon's music.

Adding to the excitement, Indian boy band OutStation will open for Akon at the Mumbai concert. The five-member group considers the opportunity to perform before Akon a "huge honour and a defining moment". Their mentor, Savan Kotecha, a 17-time Grammy nominee, revealed that OutStation will perform a mix of original songs and covers.

While anticipation is high for the Mumbai show, Akon's Delhi concert faced criticism from fans who cited poor event management, faulty sound, and obstructed views. Despite the criticism, Akon's India tour continues to draw significant attention, with fans eager to experience his high-energy performances.

Akon's connection with India goes back over a decade, with his collaboration on the song "Chammak Challo" for the 2011 film Ra.One becoming a massive success.
