The 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is set to be released on November 19, 2025. This scheme provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmer families, disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 directly into their bank accounts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the latest installment, continuing the government's commitment to support farmers across the country. So far, over ₹3.70 lakh crore has been disbursed to more than 11 crore farmer families through 20 installments. The scheme, launched on February 24, 2019, aims to supplement the financial needs of farmers in procuring agricultural inputs and managing household expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
To receive the benefits of the PM-KISAN Yojana, farmers must meet certain eligibility criteria. These include:
- Citizenship: The applicant must be an Indian citizen and an active farmer.
- Land Ownership: The farmer must own cultivable land.
- Family Definition: A family consists of a husband, wife, and minor children. Only one member per family is considered for the scheme.
- Economic Status: The applicant must belong to a lower economic status group. Certain categories are excluded, such as government employees, pensioners earning ₹10,000 or more per month, and professional taxpayers.
Required Documents
Farmers need to have the following documents ready for registration and verification:
- Aadhar card.
- Voter ID card.
- Passport-size photograph.
- Bank passbook with account details and IFSC code.
- Land ownership documents.
How to Register
New farmers can register for the PM-KISAN scheme through the following steps:
- Visit the official PM-KISAN portal.
- Under the 'Farmers Corner,' select 'New Farmer Registration'.
- Choose either 'Rural Farmer Registration' or 'Urban Farmer Registration'.
- Enter your Aadhaar number, select your state, and enter the captcha code.
- Fill out the registration form with accurate details and submit it.
Mandatory e-KYC
The government has made e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) mandatory for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries. This is to ensure that the benefits reach the genuine beneficiaries. Farmers can complete their e-KYC through several methods:
- OTP-based e-KYC: Available on the PM-KISAN portal.
- Biometric e-KYC: Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for biometric authentication.
- Face Authentication: Use the PM-KISAN mobile app and the Aadhaar Face RD app to complete e-KYC via facial recognition.
To complete e-KYC through the PM-Kisan portal:
- Visit the PM-Kisan website and go to the 'Farmers Corner'.
- Click on the 'e-KYC' option.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and click 'Search'.
- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and click 'Submit OTP'.
Checking Beneficiary Status
Farmers can check their beneficiary status on the PM-KISAN portal:
- Go to the PM-KISAN website and click on the “Farmers Corner” section.
- Select 'Know Your Status'.
- Enter your Registration Number and the captcha code.
- Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
If you do not know your registration number, you can retrieve it by entering your registered mobile number or Aadhaar number.
