Viineet Kumar Singh's Stellar 2025: A Year of Breakthrough Performances in Diverse and Acclaimed Projects.

In 2025, Viineet Kumar Siingh has delivered a series of memorable performances, cementing his place as one of Bollywood's most versatile and impactful actors. From historical dramas to heartwarming comedies, Siingh has showcased his range and depth, leaving a lasting impression on audiences and critics alike.

His year began with Laxman Utekar's period drama "Chhaava," released in February, where he played the pivotal role of Kavi Kalash, a poet and warrior who stood by Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj until his last breath. Singh's portrayal was lauded for its intensity and emotional depth, with many feeling his chemistry with Vicky Kaushal overshadowed the latter's pairing with Rashmika Mandanna. Critics noted that Siingh, despite being in a supporting role, truly shone in the movie, with his character remaining with viewers long after the credits rolled. Speaking about the climax of "Chhaava", Viineet shared how something magical happened on the day of the shoot and that the brotherhood he shared with Vicky translated on screen. The film was a commercial success, grossing over ₹200 crore in its debut weekend.

Also released in February was Reema Kagti's "Superboys of Malegaon," where Siingh played Farogh, a struggling writer navigating the world of grassroots filmmaking in Malegaon. This role offered a stark contrast to his warrior persona in "Chhaava", allowing him to display his ability to portray a deeply introspective and layered character. Singh's own experiences as a writer before becoming an actor lent authenticity to his performance, as he understood the passion, frustration, and vulnerability that come with creative expression. The film had a successful run on the international film festival circuit, garnering acclaim at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). According to Vineet, the standing ovation the film received at TIFF was a magical experience. "Superboys of Malegaon" was also selected as the Opening Night Film at the 2025 National Indian Film Festival of Australia (NIFFA), where it won Best Feature Film.

September saw the release of Anurag Kashyap's "Nishaanchi," where Siingh played Jabardast, the father of the twin brothers, a wrestler whose life is derailed by a conspiracy. Although his screen time was limited, Siingh's performance was considered the heart of the film, with his portrayal of Jabardast anchoring the narrative. This marked another collaboration between Siingh and Kashyap, who have previously worked together on films like "Mukkabaaz" and "Gangs of Wasseypur". Kashyap expressed his admiration for Siingh, calling him "the finest actor we have in this country today" and praising his dedication and humility.

Earlier in the year, Siingh also starred in Gopichand Malineni's action drama "Jaat" alongside Sunny Deol.

Looking back at his journey, Siingh has been candid about the struggles he faced before achieving success. He revealed that he took on odd jobs, including playing a body double for Suniel Shetty and even a dead body for Sanjay Dutt, to survive in the industry. He debuted in Mahesh Manjrekar's "Pitaah" in 2002. He also served as an assistant director. Despite the challenges, Siingh persevered, keeping his dream alive and ultimately earning recognition for his talent and hard work.

With a diverse range of roles and consistently impactful performances, Viineet Kumar Siingh has solidified his position as a force to be reckoned with in Bollywood. His ability to transform himself into any character, coupled with his dedication and passion for his craft, makes him one of the most sought-after actors in the industry.
