Dharmendra's health recovery sparks joy: Family hopes to celebrate beloved actor's 90th birthday, God willing.

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra is showing signs of improvement after a recent hospitalization, prompting his family to consider celebrating his upcoming 90th birthday. The actor, who will turn 90 on December 8, 2025, was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital in late October after complaining of breathlessness.

Initial reports indicated that he was under observation. However, conflicting accounts emerged, with some suggesting he was in intensive care and even placed on ventilator support. These reports caused considerable concern among his fans and the film fraternity. Dharmendra's family actively refuted the rumors and assured the public that he was recovering. His daughter, Esha Deol, took to social media to condemn the spread of false news, stating that her father was "stable and recovering".

On November 12, Dharmendra was discharged from the hospital and is currently recuperating at home under medical supervision. Dr. Pratit Samdani, his attending physician, confirmed that the family opted for home treatment. Following his discharge, the Deol family released a statement requesting privacy and urging the media and public to refrain from speculation. The family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and good wishes for Dharmendra's speedy recovery and long life.

Amidst the health scare, several Bollywood personalities visited Dharmendra in the hospital to show their support, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel. Salman Khan, who shares a close bond with Dharmendra, expressed his love and admiration for the veteran actor. Amitabh Bachchan also visited Dharmendra at his home after he was discharged.

As Dharmendra's health improves, his family is reportedly planning a double celebration next month. According to a source close to the family, they are hoping to celebrate Dharmendra's 90th birthday along with a belated birthday gathering for Esha Deol, who turned a year older on November 2. Due to Dharmendra's ill health, Esha had cancelled her birthday celebrations. "If God is willing, we will be celebrating two birthdays next month — Dharamji's and Esha's," the source stated.

Dharmendra, who has had a prominent career in Bollywood for over six decades, was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya. His upcoming film, Ikkis, is set to release this Christmas and will mark Agastya Nanda's debut.
