Patna: A deep chasm has emerged within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) dynasty, as three more daughters of Lalu Prasad Yadav have reportedly left the family's Patna residence following a public fallout involving Rohini Acharya. This exodus signals a significant escalation in the internal turmoil that has gripped the Yadav family and threatens to destabilize the RJD.

The escalating conflict became public when Rohini Acharya, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, declared she was cutting ties with her family and quitting politics. In a series of emotional and accusatory posts on social media, Acharya alleged mistreatment, humiliation, and betrayal by her brother Tejashwi Yadav and his close aides, Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. Acharya claimed she was subjected to "filthy abuses" and that "a slipper was raised to hit her" during a heated confrontation. She further alleged that she was being blamed for the party's poor performance in the recent Bihar Assembly elections.

Acharya, who donated a kidney to her father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, in December 2024, also expressed her anguish over accusations related to the kidney donation. She stated that she was being taunted that she "got my father to have my dirty kidney transplanted" and insinuations of buying an election ticket in exchange for the organ.

Following Rohini Acharya's public outcry and departure, three more of Lalu Yadav's daughters, Ragini, Chanda, and Raj Laxmi, have also left the Patna residence and relocated to Delhi. This mass departure of female family members underscores the severity of the rift within the Yadav family and raises questions about the future dynamics of the RJD.

The current crisis appears to stem from the RJD's disappointing performance in the recent Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, where the party secured only 25 out of 143 seats contested. Rohini Acharya had directly blamed Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, key advisors to Tejashwi Yadav, for the electoral debacle. She accused them of exercising unchecked influence and contributing to the party's failure. The internal blame game has seemingly evolved into a full-blown family feud, with accusations of misconduct and abuse being publicly aired.

This is not the first instance of discord within the Yadav family. Months prior to this recent fallout, Lalu Prasad Yadav had expelled his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party. Tej Pratap went on to launch his own political outfit, which failed to make an impact in the Bihar polls.

The current family drama has not only exposed deep divisions within the RJD but has also raised concerns about the party's leadership and future direction. The allegations and counter-allegations traded between family members have created a public spectacle that could damage the party's image and erode its support base. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether the Yadav family can reconcile and resolve their differences, or whether this rift will lead to a permanent fracture within the RJD.
