Uncertainty Surrounds Imran Khan: Sister's Statement Adds to Confusion Amidst Death Rumours and Lack of Information.

Amid swirling rumors of Imran Khan's death, his sister, Aleema Khanum, has voiced concerns over the lack of access to the former Prime Minister, stating, "We don't know anything". This statement has added to the heightened state of uncertainty surrounding Khan's well-being, who has been imprisoned since August 2023.

The rumors, which have been circulating on social media platforms, particularly those based in Afghanistan, allege that Khan was killed while in custody at Adiala Jail. These claims have been refuted by jail authorities, who insist that Khan is in "completely good health" and is receiving complete medical attention. A statement released by Adiala Jail administration to Geo News, stressed that reports of Khan's transfer from the jail were false and that he is healthy. They also stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has been informed regarding Imran Khan's health and that all necessary care is being provided.

However, these assurances have done little to quell the anxieties of Khan's family and supporters. His sisters, Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan, and Dr. Uzma Khan, have claimed they have not been allowed to meet with Imran Khan for over three weeks. They also allege they were "brutally" assaulted by police outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail while attempting to visit their brother. According to reports, the sisters stated that officers pushed and hit them, along with PTI supporters, as they waited outside the jail. The sisters have written to the Punjab police demanding action against the officers involved in the alleged assault.

The Islamabad High Court has granted Imran Khan's family visitation rights twice a week. Despite this, access has been severely restricted since August 2023. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was also unable to meet him despite several attempts. According to PTI, Khan is being held in complete isolation, with limited access to lawyers or even reading materials.

Adding to the conflicting information, a formal health report submitted to the court by Adiala Jail authorities indicates that Imran Khan has complained of ear pain and tinnitus, particularly in his left ear. He has been assessed multiple times by ENT specialists between 2023 and 2025, and was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. His vertigo episodes were attributed to inner-ear dysfunction.

Amidst the uncertainty, Imran Khan's younger son, Kasim Khan, has claimed that the Pakistani government is keeping his father in complete isolation and denying him access to family visits.

The restrictions on visitation and conflicting reports about Imran Khan's health have led to protests by PTI workers and supporters outside Adiala Jail. There were reports of violent protests and attempts to storm the jail. Following assurances from jail officials and police that a meeting with Imran Khan would be arranged, the protests were called off. It was reported that the sisters would likely be allowed to meet Imran Khan soon.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's defense minister, Khawaja Asif, has claimed that Imran Khan is receiving comfortable treatment in prison, with access to television, exercise equipment, and a special menu.

The swirling rumors and conflicting reports have created a tense situation, with concerns mounting over the well-being and safety of the former Prime Minister.
