IIM Indore's 2026-28 Postgraduate Program: Admission Guidelines Unveiled for Aspiring Future Business Leaders.

IIM Indore Announces Admission Guidelines For 2026-28 Postgraduate Programme Batch

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has announced its admission criteria for the 2026-28 batch of its Post Graduate Programme (PGP). The new guidelines emphasize a holistic evaluation process, giving significant weightage to academic performance, particularly in Class 12, and personal interview (PI) performance. This approach aims to identify candidates with not only strong academic abilities but also well-rounded personalities and leadership potential.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the PGP program at IIM Indore, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA. However, a relaxation of 5% is given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, for whom the minimum requirement is 45%. Candidates appearing for their final year bachelor's degree exams are also eligible to apply, provided they can submit proof of completion by June 30, 2026. Additionally, all applicants must have a valid CAT 2025 scorecard and meet the minimum sectional and overall percentile cut-offs.

Selection Process

IIM Indore will adopt a three-stage selection process based on the scores from the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025. Candidates must achieve the minimum sectional and overall percentile cut-offs in CAT 2025 to qualify for consideration. For applicants in the General and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), the overall cut-off is set at 90 percentile, with 80 percentile required in each section. For candidates from the Non-Creamy Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC), the overall cut-off is 80 percentile. The cut-off for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates is set at 60, 45, and 45 percentile, respectively.

The selection process is divided into three phases: * Phase 1: Screening of candidates based on the CAT 2025 score. * Phase 2: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview (PI). The IIM Indore Provisional PI Shortlist for Phase 2 will be made available most likely in the last week of January 2026, and the Personal Interview will be conducted in February 2026. * Phase 3: Final selection based on a composite score that considers CAT score, PI performance, academic performance, and diversity factor.

Weightage Criteria

IIM Indore has introduced significant changes in its admission criteria for 2026-28. The weightage for the CAT 2025 score in the final merit list has been reduced to 20%. Academic achievements in classes 10 and 12 will now carry a weightage of 74%. A diversity factor (DF) has been introduced with a weightage of 6.4%. The maximum weightage percentage has been reduced from 100 to 80.

The increased emphasis on Class 12 performance and PI reflects IIM Indore's commitment to a comprehensive evaluation of candidates. The PI round carries a substantial weightage in the final selection, making comprehensive interview preparation essential.

Checking Shortlist Status

Candidates can check their IIM Indore PI shortlist status for 2026 on the IIM Indore website by entering their CAT 2025 Registration ID, registered email ID, or date of birth.

IIM Indore reserves the right to modify the admission process. Candidates are advised to check the official website (iimidr.ac.in) for the latest updates.
