IndiGo has issued a travel advisory on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, warning passengers of potential flight delays due to dense fog affecting several airports across Northern and Eastern India. The airline is urging passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
The advisory was issued at approximately 4:04 AM, highlighting that early morning fog could slow down flight movements, especially in the northern regions of the country. IndiGo has also shared a direct link to its flight status page to keep travelers informed about real-time changes.
Several domestic flights have already been canceled due to poor visibility. Cities affected by the weather conditions include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Chennai, although not all flights from these airports have been canceled.
IndiGo has stated that it is making operational adjustments to minimize inconvenience to passengers, including adjusting departure slots, controlling boarding processes, and coordinating with airport authorities. The airline has also assured passengers that its teams are well-prepared and closely monitoring weather conditions.
Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi also issued a fog advisory, cautioning passengers about possible flight disruptions due to reduced visibility. The airport operator has stated that they are working with all stakeholders to minimize inconvenience and advised passengers to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates.
Other airlines, including Air India, have also issued similar advisories, alerting passengers to potential disruptions. Emirates, flydubai, and Air India Express have reported delays of up to two and a half hours.
Passengers are advised to keep a check on real-time flight status on the official IndiGo website or mobile app, allow additional travel time to reach airports, and closely monitor airline alerts and airport announcements.
Dense fog is a recurring challenge for aviation during the winter months, causing low visibility and disrupting flight schedules. The recent disruptions have occurred during a busy travel period between the UAE and India.
