Allison Hooker, US Diplomat, Visits Delhi and Bengaluru, India, December 7-11: Strengthening Ties and Exploring Opportunities.

Delhi & Bengaluru, India – United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker is visiting India from December 7 to 11, 2025, to strengthen the strategic partnership between the United States and India. Her trip includes stops in New Delhi and Bengaluru.

In New Delhi, Hooker will engage with senior Indian officials to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, and shared priorities within the Indo-Pacific region. These discussions will occur partly through Foreign Office Consultations with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. Topics expected to be covered include counterterrorism efforts and cooperation against terrorism. Both sides have previously condemned terrorism in all forms, including cross-border terrorism, and expressed concerns about the increasing use of technology, such as drones and AI, for terrorist purposes.

While in Bengaluru, Hooker will visit the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). She will also meet with leaders from India's space, energy, and technology sectors. The goal is to promote innovation in U.S.-India research partnerships and explore opportunities for expanded cooperation in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and space exploration. Increasing American exports and deepening economic and commercial ties are also focal points of the visit.

The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in India released a statement emphasizing that Hooker's visit is designed to advance the U.S.-India strategic partnership and foster collaboration in emerging technologies. The visit aligns with U.S. President Donald Trump's priorities for a strong U.S.-India partnership and a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
