Doda, Jammu and Kashmir – In a significant move against terrorism, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has attached the property of a Pakistan-based Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist in the Doda district. The action, executed on Wednesday following the orders of a competent court, is aimed at dismantling the terror ecosystem in the region.
The attached property consists of ancestral land measuring 1.16 kanal, located in Mangota village. Officials confirmed that the land was identified, physically verified, inspected, and formally attached in accordance with legal procedures. The SIA spokesperson stated that the property was attached in the presence of the area executive magistrate and independent witnesses.
The targeted terrorist, Zahid Hussain, has been operating from Pakistan since illegally crossing the border in 2000. He is accused of radicalizing and recruiting numerous youths from Jammu and Kashmir as overground workers (OGWs) through various social media platforms. Hussain is also described as a self-styled commander of the banned Hizbul Mujahideen outfit and continues to engage in anti-national and terror activities.
This action is part of a broader effort by security agencies to disrupt the financial and logistical networks that support terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. By attaching properties and other assets, the SIA seeks to cut off funding channels and restrict the ability of terrorist groups to operate.
An SIA spokesperson emphasized the agency's commitment to dismantling terror networks by targeting both operatives and their funding sources. The agency aims to ensure that individuals involved in terrorism are held accountable and face legal consequences. The investigations that led to the attachment of Hussain's property are related to a case involving terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir who are operating from across the border.
