From BKC in 2023 to Noida now, Apple’s India retail timeline tells a story of rapid growth.
Apple's retail journey in India has seen remarkable acceleration, marked by strategic expansions and a deep commitment to the Indian market. The opening of Apple Noida on December 11, 2025, at DLF Mall of India, signifies the tech giant's growing presence and ambition in the country. This marks the fifth Apple store in India and the second in the National Capital Region.
The journey began in April 2023 with the launch of Apple BKC in Mumbai on April 18, 2023, Apple's first official retail store in India, located in the Bandra Kurla Complex. This was followed swiftly by Apple Saket in Delhi on April 20, 2023. The openings, just two days apart, signaled Apple's intent to establish a strong foothold in the Indian market.
These initial stores weren't just about sales; they were designed as dynamic spaces for customers to explore Apple products, receive exceptional service, and participate in "Today at Apple" sessions. Apple BKC even hosted a special "Mumbai Rising" series to celebrate the local community and culture. The staff at Apple BKC could collectively speak over 20 languages.
After the successful launch of the Mumbai and Delhi stores in 2023, Apple continued its expansion, opening Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru and Apple Koregaon Park in Pune in September 2025. Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's Senior Vice President of Retail and People, highlighted the strategic importance of these locations, noting Bengaluru's status as India's technology capital and Pune's vibrant community of students and creatives.
The new Apple Noida store will offer the full range of Apple products and services, including the latest iPhone models, Apple Watch Series 11, and the new iPad Pro and 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip. Customers can also access services such as Apple Trade In, financing options, and the ability to pick up online orders in-store. Over 80 team members will be available to assist customers at the new location. The store will also feature product tables and areas highlighting Apple services like Apple Music and Apple TV.
Apple's retail expansion in India reflects the country's growing importance as a key market. India is now Apple's third-largest market. CEO Tim Cook has emphasized Apple's commitment to India, highlighting the country's beautiful culture and incredible energy. Apple has been operating in India for over 25 years and has a long-term commitment to supporting local communities.
This rapid expansion is not without its challenges. Infrastructure constraints and skills gaps remain. However, Apple's history in India suggests these challenges can be overcome with sufficient investment and strategic planning.
Apple's journey from BKC in 2023 to Noida in 2025 demonstrates a clear strategy: a significant investment in the Indian market, a commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences, and a vision for long-term growth. As Apple continues to expand its retail presence, it is poised to play an increasingly important role in India's rapidly growing premium-tech market.
