Nitin Nabin, Bihar Minister, Ascends to BJP National Working President Role: A New Chapter.

Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin Appointed BJP's National Working President

In a significant organizational move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Bihar's Minister of Road Construction, Nitin Nabin, as its National Working President. The decision, made by the BJP parliamentary board on Sunday, December 14, 2025, is effective immediately. This appointment marks a crucial transition in the party's leadership structure.

Nitin Nabin, a prominent face of the BJP in Bihar, is a four-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bankipur. Born on May 23, 1980, Nabin, at 45, is expected to be the youngest president of the party once formally elected. He has a strong electoral record and is known for his crucial role in managing alliances. Nabin's political journey began in 2006 when he won a by-election from Patna West and became a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He has since held multiple ministerial portfolios in the Bihar government.

The announcement was made by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, who stated that the BJP parliamentary board had approved Nitin Nabin's appointment as the National Working President. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nabin, recognizing him as a dedicated and hardworking party worker who has carved out a distinct identity for himself within the party. Modi expressed confidence that Nabin's energy and commitment would further strengthen the party in the future.

Nabin succeeds J.P. Nadda, whose term as BJP National President was extended in view of the 2024 general election after ending in 2024. Nadda also congratulated Nabin on his new role, calling him a "dynamic BJP leader from Bihar" and wishing him a successful tenure.

Throughout his career, Nabin has held several organizational positions within the BJP, including National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and State President of BJYM Bihar. He has been actively involved in youth mobilization campaigns and has contributed to organizational activities and electoral campaigns in various states. He has also served as BJP in-charge for Sikkim and co-in-charge for Chhattisgarh. In the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, he secured 98,299 votes, defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Rekha Kumari by a significant margin.

As the National Working President, Nabin is poised to play a vital role in steering the party's strategic direction and strengthening its organizational framework. His appointment comes at a crucial time as the BJP gears up for future elections.
