Nitin Nabin: BJP's Dedicated Leader Building Trust and Shaping a Future-Ready Party Agenda.

Nitin Nabin, a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been appointed as the party's National Working President. This key organizational decision, made by the BJP parliamentary board, signals a generational shift in the party's leadership. The announcement, made on December 14, 2025, has sparked discussions about the future direction of the BJP and the role Nabin will play in shaping it.

Nitin Nabin, at 45 years old, is set to become the youngest president of the BJP, once formally elected. He is a five-term Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Bankipur constituency in Patna. Nabin has steadily risen through the ranks of the party, holding significant positions in both the organization and the Bihar government.

Born on May 23, 1980, in Patna, Bihar, Nabin comes from a political family. His father, the late Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha, was a respected BJP leader and former MLA. Nabin's political journey began after his father's death, winning a by-election from Patna West in 2006. He continued his winning streak representing the Bankipur seat in the 2010, 2015, 2020 and 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. In the 2025 election, he secured 98,299 votes, defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Rekha Kumari by a margin of 51,936 votes.

Nabin has held multiple ministerial portfolios in the Government of Bihar. He served as Minister of Road Construction from February 2021 to August 2022, and was reappointed to the same position in February 2025. He also served as Minister of Urban Development & Housing and Minister of Law & Justice.

Beyond his ministerial roles, Nabin has been actively involved in the BJP's Yuva Morcha. He served as a National Executive Committee Member of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and Co-in-charge of the youth wing in 2008. From 2010 to 2013, he was the National General Secretary of the Yuva Morcha. Between 2016 and 2019, Nabin served as the State President of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Bihar. He was also appointed BJP Election In-charge for Sikkim in 2019 and BJP Organisation In-charge for Sikkim in June of the same year.

Nabin's organizational skills were evident during the 2023 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, where he served as the BJP's in-charge for the state. His focus on micro-planning, candidate coordination, and organizational discipline contributed to the BJP's decisive victory, defying most exit poll predictions.

As the National Working President, Nabin is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the party at all levels. His appointment comes as the BJP transitions its leadership, with J.P. Nadda's term as president having ended. Nabin's responsibilities will include leading the party as it prepares for upcoming elections. He is expected to be formally elected as the president in January 2026, with the party set to endorse the election at its National Council meeting in April.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed Nabin's elevation, recognizing him as a dedicated grassroots worker. Nabin has expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and other party leaders for the opportunity and has pledged to work towards strengthening the BJP with an approach of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas". His appointment signals the BJP's focus on organizational strength, cadre management, and a commitment to loyalty and effective execution in national politics.
