Madhuri Dixit on Directorial Debut: "Not Ready Yet," Says The Actress, Disappointing Eager Fans.

Will Madhuri Dixit Make Her Directorial Debut Soon? Mrs. Deshpande Actress Says 'Not Ready'

Madhuri Dixit, the Bollywood icon with a career spanning over four decades, has captivated audiences with her acting prowess and dancing skills. With over 70 Hindi films under her belt, she has attained nationwide stardom and influenced Indian popular culture. However, fans eager to see her step behind the camera may have to wait a while.

In a recent interview, the "Dhak Dhak" girl addressed the question of whether she would consider directing a film in the near future. While expressing her deep love for cinema and storytelling, Dixit stated that she doesn't feel ready to take on the responsibilities of a director just yet. "Cinema is something very deep for me...I feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera; it is my friend, and I love telling stories. I love stepping into different characters," she said.

Dixit emphasized that filmmaking is a collaborative effort requiring a well-written script, a capable director, talented writers, and producers who can bring the project to fruition. She added that she wants to work with filmmakers who she knows will do justice with the characters that they have.

Dixit's career began in 1984 with her debut film, "Abodh". She gained widespread recognition a few years later with films like "Tezaab" in 1988. Some of her notable films include "Dil," "Beta," "Saajan," "Khalnayak," "Anjaam," and "Dil To Pagal Hai".

Recently, Dixit has been exploring new avenues in her career. She is currently starring in the web series "Mrs. Deshpande," a psychological thriller directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, where she plays a complex and unconventional role as a convicted serial killer. Dixit even performed her own stunts in "Mrs. Deshpande," refusing a stunt double and learning Krav Maga for the role.

Dixit acknowledges that the industry's evolution has brought both discipline and depth to the craft. She also believes that contemporary filmmakers are moving away from one-dimensional portrayals of women. "Women are now being looked at in a more layered way, not in black-and-white terms," Dixit said.

While a directorial debut may not be imminent, Madhuri Dixit's passion for cinema remains strong. She continues to seek out roles that excite her and collaborate with filmmakers who share her vision. Her fans can look forward to seeing her on screen in diverse and challenging roles in the years to come.
