Davos, Switzerland - Uttar Pradesh (UP) Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna has announced a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AM Green Group at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026, held in Davos. The agreement paves the way for the construction of a one-gigawatt (GW) Artificial Intelligence (AI) computer hub in Greater Noida.
The project, valued at Rs 2.7 lakh crore, equivalent to $25 billion, marks Uttar Pradesh's largest digital infrastructure investment to date. Minister Khanna hailed the agreement as a landmark achievement for both Northern India and the entire nation, emphasizing that the improved governance in Uttar Pradesh has attracted major investors.
The state government is providing complete support for investments, as Uttar Pradesh is considered a pro-investment state. The UP delegation held meetings with investors from finance, pharmaceuticals, Global Capability Centers (GCCs).
The AI hub is designed to handle global AI workloads with 500,000 advanced high-performance chipsets. The facility will house around 500,000 of the latest high‑performance chipsets and will be designed to handle large‑scale high‑performance computing (HPC) and AI workloads for global hyperscalers, frontier labs, enterprises and India's sovereign AI initiatives. AM Green said the project aligns with the Indian government's Viksit Bharat 2047 vision to accelerate the expansion of AI‑driven services.
The project will be developed in phases, with the first phase expected to be operational by 2028 and full capacity achieved by 2030. The hub will support global AI operations and contribute to India's national technology goals. The integration of green power sources aims to provide sustainable solutions. AM Group's commitment reflects a pioneering step towards a sustainable global AI infrastructure.
Speaking to ANI, Minister Khanna highlighted the transformation of Uttar Pradesh over the last eight to ten years under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership. He noted the shift from a "backward" perception to a progressive, investment-ready state, now considered a safe and secure destination for global capital. The state is offering very good incentives in the defence sector. UP has a Defence corridor from Kanpur to Jhansi.
The signing of this MoU at WEF 2026 underscores Uttar Pradesh's emergence as a key destination for industrial growth and strategic partnerships.
