Manchester United's Defensive Woes Deepen: Patrick Dorgu Sidelined for 10 Weeks with Hamstring Injury, Report Reveals.

Manchester United have been dealt a significant blow as winger Patrick Dorgu is expected to be sidelined for approximately 10 weeks due to a hamstring injury. The injury occurred during the Red Devils' thrilling 3-2 victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

Dorgu, 21, was in impressive form, scoring a stunning half-volley to put United ahead 2-1 in the second half. However, he was forced off the pitch with nine minutes remaining after appearing to clutch his hamstring following a sprint. Initial reports suggested it might have been just cramp. Manager Michael Carrick had initially hoped it was a minor issue. "He obviously came off with, hopefully, a little bit of cramp, hopefully, it's nothing worse,” Carrick said in the post-match press conference. He added that it was hard to tell the extent of the injury at that stage.

However, subsequent scans have revealed a hamstring injury that will keep the Danish international out of action for an extended period. According to reports, the injury will sideline Dorgu for around two months.

Dorgu's absence will be a major setback for Carrick, who has deployed him as a left winger in a 4-2-3-1 formation in both of his games in charge. The 21-year-old has quickly become a key player, scoring in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City earlier this month and also against Arsenal. Carrick has praised Dorgu's threat, athleticism, and quality.

Dorgu is set to miss up to eight league fixtures, including important clashes against Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United, as well as trips to West Ham United and Everton. Carrick will be hoping to have Dorgu back in time for their league game against Leeds United on April 11.

Manchester United sources have stated that there is no clear timeframe for Dorgu's return and that he is still being assessed, despite reports indicating a 10-week absence.

His recent performances had cemented his place in the starting lineup, making his absence a significant concern for the team's attacking prowess and overall balance. Dorgu had also scored the match-winner against Newcastle on Boxing Day.
